According to  the donor, the Stoddard family came from Scotland to the  Johnston and Fowler area, purchasing land near the  intersection of Bradley Brownlee Road and Stoddard-Hayes  Road, Fowler Township. Many family members are buried in  the Johnston Township cemetery.},
