Note
Video taken at the 40th Anniversary of the 1985 Tornado program, held at the Warren library May 31, 1985. Dr. Gregory S. Forbes, a former Severe Weather Expert with The Weather Channel, and Jennifer Narramore, owner of Tornado Talk, spoke on the destructive tornado that affected our region in 1985. Dr. Forbes was involved in the damage survey as part of the survey team for the National Weather Service and the National Academy of Sciences, and he shared his firsthand experiences of the aftermath.
Narramore paid tribute to the lives lost, recognized the heroes, and reflected on the resilience of the affected communities. The Local History & Genealogy Center collected personal memories of those who experienced the 1985 tornado firsthand for the Trumbull Memory Project and shared additional information at resource tables. Local photos of the tornado and its aftermath were on display.
