The 1920 census finds Clarence Herbert Beck, born January 12, 1902, and Gertrude Oldacre Beck, born November 27, 1898, residing on Swallow Street SW, Warren with Clarence's mother, Martha J. Beck. By 1940 all three had relocated to Tod Avenue, Warren, and Clarence was working as a teller at Second National Bank. On February 16, 1942 Clarence registered with the draft. The couple and his parents are buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
