Bernard Louis Bobbey was born at home in Newton Falls on April 30, 1926 and attended Newton Falls schools. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Army from 1944-1946 in Germany, including the Rhine Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge (1945). Following the war he married Mildred Senkowitz and fathered two children, Geoffrey L. (1957-1993) and Lynette M. (1962). He owned a Sohio station in Newton falls with his brother, then worked at Rockwell International in Newton Falls until its closure in the mid 1970's.
