Taylor of Pennsylvania Avenue, McDonald, Ohio. He attended McDonald High School. Following World War II William drove a truck and was a carpenter at Campbell Construction in Howland, Ohio. He married Alice Elizabeth Clower in 1945 and had two sons, William Parks, Jr. (February 11, 1946) and Terrence Allen (April 14, 1947). William died on June 5th, 1965 in Warren, Ohio. He is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery, Vienna, Ohio. William was inducted into the Army on June 23, 1942, and served in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes. He was wounded in France on December 22, 1944. William was discharged from the Army as a Technical Sergeant in Company L, 104th Infantry on June 30th, 1945. Included in his decorations were the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with five bronze stars, the Good Conduct Ribbon, a Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge and a Silver Star Medal.
