He died on April 17, 1985 and is buried in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta Township. John served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, 318th Infantry Regiment. The Tribune Chronicle of June, 1945 wrote, "Sgt. Nosich was decorated after fighting in the numerous campaigns in which the famous 80th Division of Patton's Third Army streaked across France and Germany."ť John received a Bronze Star for meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States.
