William T. Lewis was the third of eight children born to Thomas and Mary Jones Lewis of Cardiganshire, Wales. They arrived in America at New York on May 25, 1838. Mr. Lewis married Ann George of Portage County, Ohio on Mar. 27, 1858. The couple had eleven children and raised their family in Palmyra, Ohio where Mr. Lewis worked as a farmer (from Find A Grave). He is buried in Palmyra Cemetery, Palmyra Township, Portage County, Ohio.
